Chitwan

 Chitwan literally means Heart of Jungle is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Nepal. A visit to Nepal remains incomplete without seeing the beauty of the Chitwan National park.

 Formerly, Royal Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal. It was established in 1973 and listed in world heritage site in 1984. It covers an area of 932 square km.

Chitwan National Park is Asia’s well preserved conservation area which is home to at least 68 species of mammals, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. Different vagrant species from northern latitudes arrive in Chitwan to migrate during winter. Major activities in the park are Elephant riding , Jeep Safari, Bird watching, Canoe rides and Jungle walk.  Elephant safari provides an opportunity to get a closer view of the endangered one horned Rhinoceros.  One may also get a glimpse of the Bengal tiger and leopard. Sauraha is a well-known spot for tourist which offers different hotels, restaurants and lodges with full accommodation in combination with elephant and jeep safari, Canoe rides and guided jungle walks into the safe place.
