Pilgrimage Tour 5 days

Day 1

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, a tour guide will escort you to the hotel. After check-in and lunch decamp, we will take you sightseeing at breathtaking Boudhanath Stupa, Tibetan Buddhism Center, and Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the “Monkey Temple”. It is also the oldest Buddhist stupa situated on a hill overlooking the Kathmandu valley. It offers views over the city of Kathmandu and Eastern Himalayas.  We will end the day with dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 2

Depart from Tribhuvan Domestic Airport for Bhairahawa. The flight is about 35 minutes long. Upon arrival, we will proceed to Lumbini, followed by check-in and brief rest at the hotel. The tour will begin with sightseeing of Lumbini Garden, Mayadevi Temple, a sacred pond called “Puskarni” and the birthplace of Shakyamuni Gautam Buddha. In addition, you will also see Bodhi Tree, the Ashoka Pillar, and different monasteries belonging to different countries, followed by dinner at the hotel.

 

Day 3

After breakfast, there will be a full day of sightseeing around Lumbinibuddhist circuit inside Lumbinizone.You will visit important historical sites such as Tilaurakot, Kudan, Gotihawa, Niglihawa, Sagarhawa, Dhammanihawa and Aurorakot.

Tilaurakot: It is the capital of Kapilvastu and land of King Suddhodhana, father of Prince Siddhartha also known as Lord Buddha. Prince Siddhartha spent his first 29 years as a prince before he went to seek nirvana, and later became known as Buddha.

Kudan: It is a small village where it is believed that Suddhodhana met Lord Buddha for the first time, after his return from the cosmic enlightenment.

Gotihawa: It is believed to be the birth place and the place of nirvana of Krakuchhanda Buddha, who came before Shakyamuni Buddha.

Niglihawa: It is believed that Kanakmuni Buddha was born and enlightened here.

Sagarhawa: It is the forest site where the ruins of the ancient pond were excavated in 1895. The archaeologists have identified this site as the palace where the Shakya families were massacred.

Dhammanihawa: A place having ruins of small stupas built in a memory of King Suddhodhana and Queen Mayadevi.

Aurorakot: It is believed to be the birth place of Kanakmuni Buddha.

After visiting these sites, we will fly back to Kathmandu and end the evening with dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 4

This day will begin by visiting Namobuddha. According to the legend, in his previous life, Buddha came across a tiger in this place, who was unable to find food for his cubs and was on the verge of death. The Buddha was so moved with compassion that he offered his own flesh to the hungry tiger.

Then we will visit the city of Patan for sightseeing. On the way, we will stop at Dhulikhel to have lunch. Upon arrival at Patan, we will visit Golden Temple also known as HiranyaBarnaMahabihar, then proceed to Mahabouddha Temple, which the temple of ten thousand Buddhas. The terracotta style temple, is made from bricks and each of the bricks in the temple contains an image of the Buddha. This temple is similar to that in Bodhagaya, India, where Buddha received his enlightenment. There will be time for you to shop and look around. We will end the day with dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5

After breakfast, we will proceed to Tribhuvan International Airport for the departure with sweet memories of Nepal.
